“Our Brave Son “ is based on a true story . The screenplay is about John C. C. Hill who was a boy soldier (14 ) that fought valiantly at the Mier Expedition (1842 ) . President Antonio López de Santa Anna of Mexico was so impressed with stories of young John that he adopted the boy in exchange for the release of John’s father and brother from prison. While living in Mexico City , John met his first love , the daughter of an aristocrat businessman from England. The businessman forbade John to see his daughter .
